Description of the collection

The Napier pamphlets formed part of the library of Professor A.S. Napier (1853-1916), which was acquired in 1916 and included much Old and Middle English material. The pamphlets include many scarce late nineteenth and early twentieth century academic dissertations on Old and Middle English philology.
