Description of the collection
Ca. 4400 pamphlets produced throughout the 19th and early 20th century, focussing on Yorkshire and the North of England. The pamphlets cover a huge range of subjects, including social economics; industrial relations; heavy industry, commerce and agriculture; theology; politics; archaeology; education; health; general history of the Yorkshire region and information about specific towns and villages. The activities of a number of societies and organisations are also represented in the collection. The collection's uniting factor is that the subject, author or publisher has a connection with Yorkshire. In most cases, the connection lies in all three elements.
